Above the law
 By Doug Hagmann

imageFollowing the American Civil War, Jesse James earned the reputation of being a notorious bank robber and criminal gang member in the United States. It is also important to note that public opinion of Jesse James was swayed by the print media of the day, which turned Jesse James the outlaw into a symbol of confederacy defiance of the reconstruction of the South. His innocence was proclaimed and his reputation romanticized by founding editor of the Kansas City Times John Newman Edwards, who wrote prolifically about James for political cause.

Nearly a century-and-a-half later, the looting of people’s money is no longer done with a gun and a scarf. It is accomplished openly by individuals who have been given the means and opportunity by virtue of their position in the financial sector. Additionally, the looters appear to be well above the law, as those who regulate and prosecute have been co-opted by the merger of state and corporate powers. And the media, much like John Newman Edwards composites, are facilitating the financial terrorism of today through their selective reporting and protection of political and corporate interests.

The Dawn of Zuccotti New World Order
 By Judi McLeod

Even in the accumulated debris, there’s a miracle for the masses to be found in the formation of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) ongoing revolution.

Information of origin is everything.

As well jackbooted as any army marching through history, OWS was put in the parks to pave the last road leading to New World Order (NWO)—a fact revealed by one of its primary masters, former Soviet Union chief Mikhail Gorbachev.

Don’t Underestimate Iran’s Instability
 By Daniel Greenfield

imageIsraeli leaders and generals certainly don’t mind smiling knowingly every time a top Iranian commander meets an untimely accident, which has been happening surprisingly often these past few years, but the explanation is likely to be more complicated than Mossad secrets agents operating behind the scenes. The logistics of infiltrating people on the ground to carry out assassinations isn’t easy, anyone viewing the chronology of the Dubai hit for one man in a hotel room, can only begin to imagine what it would take to pull off more complicated operations in Iran, which sees far less foreign travelers and has much tighter security.

Faith, Population, and National Survival
 By Bill Muehlenberg

A number of scholarly works have now noted the connection between religion and demographics. Faith and fertility it seems are closely linked. Consider for example sociologist Eric Kaufmann’s 2010 volume, Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?

Media Won’t Link White House Shooter to Occupy Wall Street
 By Warner Todd Huston

imageThe identity of the man responsible for loosing a few shots at the White House last week has been made public by the D.C. police but one little fact is being buried by every news report about this guy. He is linked to the Occupy movement. Yet the media refuses to make the connection explicit. Imagine how the media would be wailing if the guy was a Tea Partier! But that this shooter was part of the Occupy movement seems somehow unimportant to the Old Media.

In fact, there doesn’t even have to be any link to the Tea Party for the Old Media to immediately jump to blaming the Tea Party movement for a shooting. If you’ll remember the outrageous accusations that the media made that the nut that shot Gabrielle Giffords was a Tea Partier or was driven to his criminal act by the “violent rhetoric of the right,” you’ll remember that shooter Loughner ended up having no real political point of view and was not connected even tangentially with the Tea Party.

Walking the longest mile to 2012 on the Trail of Tears
 By Judi McLeod

imageMost of the letters that flooded Canada Free Press (CFP) in the aftermath of the US Patriots Union/Veteran Defenders of America 11.11.11. rally were written about the lack of coverage of the rally in the mainstream media.  Many who wrote asked where they could find YouTubes taken at the event.

JB Williams, who organized the rally,  said yesterday he was sorting out the pictures and YouTubes for posting.

One email that arrived the day after the rally sent by Pat Barnett “an avid fan and reader of CFP for more than three years” stayed with me during the long drive back to Canada.

Green Pillage and Plunder
 By Alan Caruba

To understand what is behind all the talk, the legislation, the protests in support of “global warming”, now commonly called “climate change”, you have to understand the millions, if not billions, at stake for the liars who dreamed up this greatest hoax of the modern era.

Message in a Bottle - Anarchy, Decline and Obama Blindness
 By Rev. Michael Bresciani

Recent polls have decided who the front runners are in the GOP race for the White House but the same polls sadly report that whoever wins the party nomination still may not be able to defeat Barack Obama.

Plan 9 from Washington Space
 By Daniel Greenfield

As the ObamaCare Mandate winds its way up to the Supreme Court, which will decide whether we still have the freedom to look after our own health in our own way without compulsion from the authorities, it’s still only the tip of the positive rights iceberg.

Questionable Stimulus-Funded Projects
 By Jack Dini

When Congress passed the $862 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009, otherwise known as the stimulus bill, it passed with assurances that it would stem the loss of American jobs and keep the economy from floundering. Almost three years since the law’s passage, millions of jobs are still gone and the economy is as uncertain as ever. (1) The only thing getting a boost is our national debt—the stimulus has helped push it over 23 percent higher, to $14.3 trillion, a new record.

Message to Occupy Wall Streeters is very clear
 By Online

All over North America Occupy Wall Street tent camps are being dismantled and removed from public and private spaces, with very good reason. The tent camps camps are uniformly filthy and crime-ridden and have become eyesores and festering public health hazards. They are also full of hatred, bigotry, intolerance and misogyny.

Let’s Talk About Jobs
 By Phyllis Schlafly

We watched a couple more TV presidential candidate debates and, funny thing, again there was little or no mention of what is widely conceded to be the number-one issue: jobs. The unemployment figures remain unacceptably high, and the figures for young people are truly shocking.

National Campaign Urges Gov. Cuomo to Approve NY ‘Choose Life’ License Plate
 By Christian Newswire

imageEASTCHESTER, N.Y.,—At a Press Conference on Thursday, November 17th, at 2:00 PM, The Children First Foundation will read numerous statements and letters of endorsements urging Governor Cuomo to approve its pro-adoption “New York ‘Choose Life’ License Plate,” and will officially launch an urgent and statewide “Call Governor Cuomo Campaign” as well as a “National Petition for the Approval of the New York Choose Life License Plate.” The Press Conference will be held at the Law Office of Belair & Evans, located at 61 Broadway near Zucotti Park and the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan.

Several pro-family organizations representing over 600,000 concerned New Yorkers have already endorsed the New York “Choose Life” Plate and respectfully ask the Governor to approve it along with hundreds of other blocked custom plates—including the “9/11 Remembrance Plate”—without further delay or further unnecessary taxpayer-funded legal fees.

Clear and Present Danger: Obamacare
 By Joan R. Neubauer

In 1955 when Tennessee Ernie Ford sang “Sixteen Tons,” American society chalked it up as something belonging to the long-lost past . Listen to the lyrics because they could well become part of the American future.

The federal government could transform itself into the “Company Store” and We the People its slaves.

Obama is merely one tip of the real, global and Islamic conspiracy
 By Dr. Laurie Roth

We are seeing the classic battle for control and power by the Obama regime and international forces behind him.  It is the same evil force that inspired the legendary Roman Empire that emerged as a super power thousands of years ago.  We all remember Ben Hur and the famous Gladiators.

A Newt For All Seasons
 By Daren Jonescu

During the summer, as Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign appeared to be sputtering due to a lack of funds, many in the media began to ask why he thought he could win with no money. His reasonable answer—the only possible answer under the circumstances—was that he was going to pull a McCain. In other words, he would use the debates, along with the free campaign stops presented by political TV and talk radio programs, to present his ideas directly to the voters, which is to say without benefit of a significant team on the ground.

Gimme + Greed = Occupy Wall Street
 By Online

Tom Brokaw spoke of “The Greatest Generation.” My comments are broadly directed to what I refer to as the “Selfish Generation,” acknowledging exceptions. Prior to both, there was the generation of immigrants who gave root to the above and to whom I can never express my profound gratitude for laying the foundation, making it possible for me and you to be called Americans. Not speaking the language and many with just the clothes on their back, they followed the process of strict rules and law for an orderly, legal entree into this wonderful country.

Poi is a Hawaiian word for the primary Polynesian staple food made from the corm of the taro plant (known in Hawaiian as kalo). Poi is produced by mashing the cooked corn (baked or steamed) until it is a highly viscous fluid.

Pipelines, Pressures and Politics
 By News on the Net

OTTAWA, - It’s deeply disappointing that the U.S State Department decided today to stall a decision on the Keystone XL Pipeline, supposedly because new route options, particularly in Nebraska, need to be investigated. There are currently almost 21,000 miles of pipelines crossing Nebraska already - 3,000 miles of which carry crude oil. Many of these pipelines are within areas overlying the Ogallala Aquifer.

Successful Bipartisan Effort Delaying SPCC Rule a Win for Farmers
 By EPW Blog

Link to Press Release

Washington, D.C. - Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today welcomed a delay by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the implementation of the amended Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule. The announcement that EPA will be extending the SPCC compliance date to May 10, 2013 was quietly posted last week on EPA’s website found at Link. In June, Senator Inhofe and 32 Senators joined to send a bipartisan letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson requesting that EPA extend the implementation timeline for the amended SPCC rule for farmers, and work to ensure that the rule is not overly burdensome or confusing.

Diane Sawyer Again Links Tea Party and Sarah Palin to Rep. Giffords’ Shooting
 By Warner Todd Huston

In her exclusive interview with Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D, AZ), ABCs Diane Sawyer began with a retrospective of the terrible crime committed against the Congresswoman by a mentally disturbed, a-political gunman. But true to her left-wing agenda, Sawyer could not resist illicitly linking Tea Party activists, anti-Obamacare sentiment, and even Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to what was perpetrated against Rep. Giffords on that terrible day.

Syria and the Arab League: Moral Censure and Identity Politics
 By INSS

On November 12, 2011, the League of Arab States suspended the membership of one of its founding partners, the Syrian Arab Republic. This is not a totally unprecedented measure, but it is nevertheless highly significant, not because the League itself is a unified and effective international actor but rather because it may well be a harbinger of future actions by many of its constituent governments.
