The United States independent political party was established in 2007. This national organization was first made up of activists from the New York Independence Party. Although still relatively new, it has been the fastest growing political organization in the United States in recent years. It has also quickly become the group many people have moved to because of unhappiness with other respective parties.
This grass roots organization has members from many different places and backgrounds. They hold a strong belief in non-bipartisan democracy and are aiming for elections where all candidates are classified as Independents.
Deeply rooted spiritual beliefs drive many of the views the group currently holds. It's members also strongly believe the Constitution is law and every person must follow it. Their current belief is that the 10th Amendment, guaranteeing a limited government, is currently under violation. Their is also a strong belief family values being of great importance and the need for every member of society to help those in their community.
This organization is firmly against gay marriage and legalized abortions. They have also taken a strong stance against illegal immigration and believe the problem could be reduced by increasing border security.
Independents have a clear vision of what they believe are within the rights of our government and what those elected to office are obligated to due for the people. The firmly believe government has taken to much control in some areas and is not doing their part in others.
The group, as a whole, has a focused goal of a less intrusive government and this makes it appealing to so many people. More and more individuals are becoming unhappy with the direction the Democrats and the Republicans are headed. A large portion of the country feels it is time to take away some of the governments power. Even with a few widely unaccepted views, the party still continues to grow each day.
