Incentives To Apply Sunless Tanning

By Haywood Hunter

Even in the winter, it can be nice to have something of a healthy tan. To achieve this, many people bask in the sun, taking in the rays until their skin has a pleasantly healthy hue. For others, however, this result is achieved with some sunless tanning lotion.

There are a few reasons, of various degrees of importance, why this would be. The most crucial and often given reason is that spending too much time in the sun is bad for your health and your skin. Diseases such as skin cancer are a big risk if you do not take precautions, but it is a risk that does not exist with tanning lotion.

This is, possibly, one of the more important reasons that one might choose to use lotion, instead. A less health-threatening reason would be convenience. Sunbathing may be relaxing and easy, but you may find it to be time-consuming, boring or it could be that you just do not have the time.

Applying lotion and waiting for it to dry will take up less time in the long run. There are, also, particular times in the year when you might want a tan, but there simply is not enough sun to give you one, naturally. Even if there is enough sun, it will most likely be too cold to sunbathe in any case. Tanning lotion will give you the opportunity to have a healthy looking tan in the winter.

Some people feel that the results of tanning lotion are not at all like a natural tan. They feel that it looks too garish and orange to be realistic.

This might have once been fully accurate and could still be, depending on which lotion you choose. However, there are many lotions and creams available, today, that can fully replicate the appearance of a natural tan. For those using sunless tanning, there are plenty of decent options around.
