The left's Pyrrhic victory? -- As a result of the Supreme Court's Obamacare ruling, President Obama has become an historic taxer, reports TheDC's Neil Munro:
"The already unpopular 2010 health care reform law has been converted by the court into a $1.76 trillion tax increase funded by escalating taxes to be paid by the vast majority of taxpayers ... By formally converting 'Obamacare' into 'Obamatax,' the court allows Republicans to argue that Obama violated his 2008 pledge to not raise taxes on middle-class Americans."
One wonders whether by awarding Obama the battle, the Supreme Court set Obama up to lose the war --- as in his re-election effort. | | ----------------------------------------------------

Roberts revisited -- While liberals disparaged the Supreme Court in the lead up to the health care vote, many are now praising John Roberts as a hero, reports TheDC's Jamie Weinstein (ME!):
"After Thursday's Obamacare ruling, Supreme Court Justice John Roberts became a minor deity to some liberals for voting to save Obamacare. But just days before Roberts' apotheosis, liberals lamented that the 'conservative' Supreme Court was taking American down a dangerous path. Verbally hyperventilating in The Atlantic, James Fallows wrote that the Supreme Court was aiding in a 'long-term coup' by conservatives ... But after Roberts voted to uphold Obamacare, the looming coup the left was warning about disappeared and its leader, John Roberts, suddenly became a great man of history to some. 'This could be a huge day in the evolution of Chief Justice Roberts as a great chief justice,' liberal legal scholar Laurence Tribe told the New York Times in the aftermath of the Obamacare ruling."
Oh, you agree with me? In that case, you're probably not the bane of all evil. | 3.) GOP congressmen don't much like Eric Holder -- Joined by 17 Democrats, the House GOP held Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress Thursday, reports TheDC's Matthew Boyle:
"The U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress over his failure to provide Congress with subpoenaed Operation Fast and Furious documents. Seventeen Democrats joined most House Republicans in the effort to hold Holder in contempt. Two Republicans — Virginia Rep. Scott Rigell and Ohio Rep. Steve LaTourette — voted against the measure and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi led a walkout of many members of her caucus." | 4.) And in other news... -- At least some people in America are nuts, reports TheDC's Taylor Bigler:
"According to two separate lawsuits filed against Kim Kardashian in West Virginia this week, the reality star is an al-Qaida operative and is also into some really weird sex stuff involving unicorns, WTRF.com reports. Jonathan Kimberly of Philadelphia filed a suit against Kardashian for the time that she, along with ex-husband Kris Humphries and his current girlfriend Myla Sinanaj, filled a hotel room with a sheep, two goats and a unicorn, then held him at gunpoint and forced him to watch them have sex."
