Words of Life - John 6:68
I'm sure you all have heard and even said, as a kid, "Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never harm me". This was a clever come back to those who were calling us names but the fact is it's
just not true. Words harm people every day. Many hardened criminals testify that they were told repeatedly that they were no good by a parent or someone in authority. There is a preponderance of evidence that negative words have destroyed the self image of millions of people. On the other hand there is evidence that positive words have lifted up young people who have gone on to accomplish great things.

Our lead scripture from John 6:68 says: Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.Peter was referring to the words of confession unto salvation that Jesus is Lord and the word "life" in the Gree k is "Zoe" or God's kind of life and even everything that makes God, God. He is life. The point I want to focus upon here is "Words". Words can get you saved and words can get you healed and words ca n make you prosperous.
Those who doubt this will quickly say "There you go, joining the 'name it and claim it' crowd". This may also be a cute saying but the Bible confirms over and over that we have what we say. Mark 11:23,24 - 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Jesus did not waste words and these words from Mark are so powerful that I am amazed that anyone would ignore them. I heard Kenneth Copeland say the other day "The universe is a word created and a
word governed system". Did not God say "Let there be light and light was"? Yes he did and that's how the universe was created, through words. God made man in his image, (the exact likeness) and we were created to "walk and talk and act like Jesus".
An important thing to remember is that words can tear down and also build up. It's not just a single word that alters your circumstances and creates your future. It's what you say repeatedly that establishes direction. Have you ever heard a person say
repeatedly "I usually catch the flu every year about this time" and sure enough they do? Then they laugh it off and say "I told you so", not knowing that their words helped to afflict them. I have a friend who used to say regularly "That about gave me a heart attack". Sure enough, he had a heart attack and now takes medication for it. Don't think you can ignore the principles of God and get by with it.
God designed words to help us accomplish what He wants for us and for what is good for us, but the devil tricks us into using our own against us. Then he conceals what we said and when we said negative words so that we aren't even aware what we have been saying.
Click: James 3:3-6 and read carefully, especially verse 6 The tongue also is a fire, a w
orld of evil among the parts of the body. It corru pts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. So now that you know you can go out and speak words of life. Huaa!
