| <<Isaiah 30>> King James 2000 Bible (There is a Message Bible that paraphrases, or roughly translates, the Bible into blunt modern English. This is a paraphrase by me. It too, is in modern English and is brutally honest and slightly political. I only paraphrased or clarified certain words and they are in parentheses. Hal Mitchell, Ready Write Ministries. |

Woe to the Rebellious Nation 1Woe (trouble) to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, (take advice) but not from me; (but from the government) and that cover with a covering, (authority) but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: (It multiplies exponentially) 2That walk (their direction is toward Egypt or bondage and it's not all that far because they walk) to go down into Egypt, (Spiritual and financial bondage) and have not asked my counsel; (advice) to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, (The President; ie. Obama) and to trust in the shadow (shadow, again, indicates close proximity) of Egypt! (Spiritual, financial, and political indebtedness) 3Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh (The President: ie. Obama) be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt (indebtedness; financial and political) your humiliation. 4For his princes were at Zoan, (a principal city in ancient Egypt where many of Pharaoh's counselors lived; ie. Czars or counselors to the President today) and his ambassadors came to Hanes. (Another principal city in ancient Egypt. A place where the Pharaoh often resided, like a summer or vacation home. The Pharaoh, like Obama, spent a lot of time on vacation) 5They were all ashamed (they won't associate with nor help them) of a people that could not profit them, (can't help them) nor be a help nor a profit, but a shame, and also a reproach. (An obstacle to their ambitions) |
