Et tu, New York Times style editor? -- Let the tax returns flow -- Here comes the King -- Duty. Honor. Country. -- Poll of the Day: Americans want tax cuts extended for everyone --Tweet of Yesterday | 1.) Et tu, New York Times style editor? -- It probably doesn't come as much of a surprise that the media love Barack Obama. Some even go so far as to shed any pretense of objectivity and donate to his campaign. TheDC's Alex Pappas reports:
"Employees of news outlets including the New York Times and the Huffington Post have donated money to President Obama’s re-election campaign, according to records reviewed by The Daily Caller ... Two employees of the New York Times Company also donated money to Obama’s re-election campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records. Sally Singer, the editor of 'T: The New York Times Style Magazine,' donated $500 to Obama in January. And John Stickney, a senior editor for the New York Times Syndicate, donated $300 in December."
Everything is so tainted. Now when we read in the Times what the new hipster fashion of the month is, we have to be wary we're not being subtly influenced to vote for Obama. Then again, no Romney supporter actually reads the New York Times style magazine. | 2.) Let the tax returns flow -- Conservative columnist George Will doesn't think Mitt Romney is handling his tax return imbroglio very well, reports TheDC's Jeff Poor:
"During the roundtable segment of the program, Will argued that Romney is still acting like a businessman instead of a politician. 'Mitt Romney is losing at this point in a big way,' Will said. 'If something is going to come out, get it out in a hurry. I do not know why — given that Mr. Romney knew the day that McCain lost in 2008 that he was going to run for president again, that he didn’t get all of this out and tidy up some of his offshore accounts and all the rest. He’s done nothing illegal, nothing unseemly, nothing improper, but lots that’s impolitic, and he’s now in the politics business.'"
Just release a big pile of your returns, governor! Presuming we don't learn that you were in bed financially with the El Chapo drug cartel and al-Qaida, nothing in them will destroy you. Take whatever hits may come from them. And on Election Day, it is hard to believe voters will care more about your Swiss Bank Account than the sucky economy. | 3.) Here comes the King -- Rep. Steve King is coming after President Obama for his immigration policy, reports TheDC's Alex Pappas:
"Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King says he expects that the immigration lawsuit he is spearheading against President Obama will be filed in a court within weeks. 'I think we’re talking weeks rather than months,' King told The Daily Caller in an interview Friday about the planned legal action against Obama. King’s lawsuit is in response to the Obama administration’s divisive announcement last month that the government would stop deporting certain illegal immigrants who arrived in the United States as children." | 4.) Duty. Honor. Country. -- Award-winning war reporter Alex Quade reports for TheDC on some of America's remarkable wounded warriors:

Poll of the Day: Americans want tax cuts extended for everyone -- McClatchy--Marist poll asks, "Which statement comes closer to your view? Congress should extend the tax cuts only for the middle class, but not for the top 2%, that is, households earning $250,000 or more. Congress should extend the tax cuts for everyone, including the top 2%, that is, households earning $250,000 or more": 52% said extend for everyone, 43% said extend just for the middle class and 5% were unsure. | | 6.)
