Through the eyes of a prisoner of war

Dear Friends ---

Those who are paying attention know that the stakes in our politics are higher than ever.  There are two competing visions for the future of America. Some, however, don't see it.

Each week, we try to share hope, inspiration and lessons from a leader, a fighter, a hero who best animates our founding principles and American exceptionalism. Our email list is hovering at 55,000 now, and I ask you to send some of your friends to sign up for these Leaders emails!

This week's interview is with retired Col. Lee Ellis, who as a 23-year-old, served over five years in a prisoner of war camp in Vietnam. He talks of  leadership, politics, the ethics of waterboarding and what makes America great.

Watch the interview here.

Next week: Marshall Teague, star of a compelling Sept. 14 movie, Ounce of Courage. Watch this trailer and get ready to go see it with friends!

Cheers,

Ginni

P.S. On Sept. 15, Constitution Day, many fellow citizens are starting a new tradition of reading the U.S. Constitution, a fabulous idea! My friend Colin Hanna, of Let Freedom Ring, has given us all a great website to help support such easy citizen efforts. Go to We Read The Constitution for more information.

Last Week: Anita Moncrief
