Dear friend,
If you are like me and my friends, you are pulling
away from politics and politicians right now. No voice in Washington is speaking for you (and by the way, I have told them that, too!).
Although the consultants and scam artists blew it on the Republican side, I can't remember an election where voters showed as much volunteer time, sacrifice and generosity. The "Mighty Texas Strikeforce" of great patriots was only one example of the many who traveled, at their own expense, to battleground states to help. So many new people to politics knocked on doors and made phone calls! From the bottom of my heart,
thank you for all you did on this monumentally important election. The power is still with the American people, and it starts with you who think clearly.
Speaking of clear thinking, if you know of a young woman or man interested in politics, send them this interview with North Carolina Republican Rep. Sue Myrick, who is retiring this year after nine terms in the House. Never one to overplay her gender card, Myrick came to Congress in 1995 after being the first and only female mayor of Charlotte. In 1999, she had to battle breast cancer on top of her harried schedule, and she succeeded. She served as the head of the Republican Study Committee, sat at the Republican leadership table and served on the House Intelligence and Energy and Commerce committees. Throughout it, she maintained her love for real people across the nation, as well as her charm and core beliefs in what makes America strong. She leaves Washington with her integrity, and many who will sorely miss her.
In this interview, she talks about the institution of the House, Benghazi, being a woman in the "boys club," advice for incoming members of Congress and America's biggest threats.
Watch the interview here.
Last week's interview, with Dr. Sebastian Gorka, was one of my favorites and is
still available here.
Cheers,
Ginni
P.S. Check out this
inspirational video for the Christmas season.
P.P.S. Please consider giving to those small entrepreneurial center-right non-profits who worked hard and need private charitable support to stay afloat in these challenging times! After all, if our electoral loss showed a cultural loss, we need to double down on cultural restoration through solid and varied civic education on what makes America great from its founding, friends!
