Good News Digest Prophetic Insights to Daily Living Edition #89 - December 26, 2012 Escapism - Hal's Christmas OPED I noticed over this Christmas season that so many young people and even a few "older" ones have become absorbed in their I-Pads, I-Pods, Tablets etc. to the point of obsession. At first I thought it was just a generational gap but when I saw that older people were equally absorbed I realized it was not just a generational gap but a new form of escapism. I can't really fault them on this latest method of avoiding the harsh realities of life because today's problems are more ominous than any we have ever faced before. We are faced with earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars, terrorism, mass school shootings, and fiscal cliffs, to name a few. Even the old Mayan calendar, by some, portended the ending of the world on 12/21/12. That day came and went but it only left more anxiety in its wake.
