Dear Michael, Congress' binge of spending, taxing, and borrowing is putting our financial future at risk. This is not a time for rhetoric and political posturing. It is time for a leader to step up and assume the conservative mantle. And that leader is The Heritage Foundation. Just this week, congressional conservatives derailed the GOP's "Plan B" tax hike plan. And they did so using facts, figures, and analysis from Heritage experts. Heritage has a principled plan to decrease spending and borrowing that are placing a drag on our economy while shoring up the entitlement programs to better serve the needy. We have allies in Congress who are ready to work with our policy experts to implement this plan. But Heritage must meet our $850,000 goal by December 31 to make this happen. Since our founding nearly 40 years ago, Heritage has been working with Congressional conservatives to promote principled solutions.
