You're responsible with money. Why isn't our government?

The Heritage Foundation

Dear Michael,

It doesn't make any sense.

Last Monday was Tax Day. And like most Americans, you probably felt more of a pinch than in years past.

That's because liberals in Washington decided to fund their irresponsible spending by taxing hardworking, honest Americans like you.

You have been responsible with your money. You set aside money for a rainy day. When times get tough, you tighten your belt.

But in Washington, they play by different rules. Tough times mean more spending, which means more taxes on workers and investors.

It's time to stop increasing taxes. It’s time to make meaningful cuts. It's time to make government spend within its means, just like you do.

The Heritage Foundation has a simple, workable plan to achieve this.

And we have set a deadline of April 30 to support our spending and tax plansWe must get our plan in front of Congress before it’s too late.

Your dedication and support will allow Heritage and the conservative movement to grow. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sen. Jim DeMint
President
