Life more abundantly    Dear  Mike       Good News Digest   Prophetic Insights to Daily Living Edition #93 - Jan. 23, 2013  The Rest of God   If you have ever done much physical work you will quickly agree that rest is a wonderful thing. I used to work as a hod carrier during the summer when I was in college. It paid very good money but the labor was intensive. It was a good thing that I worked for my brother-in-law who was a Brick Mason because he allowed me to rest whenever the summer heat in Missouri began to get the best of me.   A hod carrier does need rest but there is another kind of rest mentioned by God which is even more important. That rest is the kind God spoke of in Genesis 2:2 after He finished the work of creation. God did not sit down and wipe his brow and rest because he was tired like a hod carrier. He rested because His work was finished and there was nothing else to do. This is what the Bible calls a Sabbath Rest which means to cease from your labor.
