The First Principles of Immigration Reform
In his upcoming State of the Union Address, President Obama will very likely address our nation’s broken immigration system. Rather than call for comprehensive legislation, we invite the President to instead take a problem-solving approach.

With comprehensive legislation everyone loses—our nation’s immigrants, our employers, our citizens.

But with a step-by-step approach on the basis of first principles and our best traditions, we develop real solutions to address our immigration systems’ core problems.

What Are Conservatives FOR?
Many looked at the results on Election Day and saw disaster. At The Heritage Foundation, however, we see opportunity. Americans are asking: “What do conservatives stand for?”

Keeping Ronald Reagan's Legacy
Conservatives frequently celebrate the economic boom generated by President Ronald Reagan’s domestic policies. But as we celebrate his 102st birthday on Wednesday, let’s also take note of Reagan’s foreign policy successes. Reagan charted a course that allowed the West to win the Cold War without firing a shot.

Reagan’s grand strategy rested on an understanding of American self-interest that respects the decent opinions of mankind without making international institutions or international opinion the polestar for American action. While we no longer have a Reagan, we still have the six enduring principles of his foreign policy to guide us.

Quote of the Week
"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily."

- George Washington
