Good News Digest Prophetic Insights to Daily Living Edition #101 - March 20, 2013 First Fish Do you enjoy fishing? Many people think it's a lazy man's sport because some fishermen just throw a line in the water and sit on the bank and doze off until some "sucker" (a little play on words here) bites on his bate. There are, however, serious fishermen who hike up to mountain streams with all the latest gear and lures in an effort to catch the elusive rainbow trout. I have done this in Colorado but I usually spent more time admiring the majestic Rockies than I did trying to find the right spot where the trout were feeding. Why am I talking about fishing today; because Simon Peter, one of the 12 apostles, was a professional fisherman when he met Jesus. He was not a lazy fisherman but he and his partners would spend all night casting out their nets in order to bring in enough fish to make a living. They fished at night because in the clear waters of the Sea of Galilee where they fished, the fish could see the nets in the daytime and swim away.
