Good News Digest Prophetic Insights to Daily Living Edition #115 - July 3, 2013 When I was kid on the farm we did not have electricity so we used kerosene lam ps that had a wick which reached down into a decorative glass bowl that held the kerosene. When you lit the wick it would create a nice light after you put on the glass globe. Later we bought an improved lamp called "Aladdin's lamp" that used "white" gasoline and had a delicate mantle that would create a really bright light after you put on the globe. Even though my friends who lived in town enjoyed electric lights I could see quite well by these lamps and I didn't think we were deprived at all. Although there are a variety of great lamps that provide light to read after dark there is a unique lamp mentioned in the Bible that provides a different light. Let's examine this light and how it gets into our bodies. In Luke 11:34-36 it says: "The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35"Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. 36"If therefore your whole body is full of light with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays."
