Spitzer has Weiner envy -- Oops, I'll do it again --  Dumber and dumber -- Bush is a babble-rouser -- Tweet of Yesterday -- Today in North Korean News

1) Spitzer has Weiner envy -- With Anthony Weiner demonstrating that past creepiness is no barrier to success in New York City politics, Eliot Spitzer now wants in on the action. TheDC's Alexis Levinson:

"If you’re a politician who left office over a sex scandal, this is the year to make your comeback. Mark Sanford is now a sitting congressman, and Anthony Weiner tops the polls in the New York mayor’s race. And now, it’s Eliot Spitzer’s turn. The former New York Governor announced a bid for New York City Comptroller on Sunday, the New York Times reports. Spitzer resigned from the governorship in 2008 after he was revealed to be a client of a high-end prostitution ring called Emperor’s Club VIP."

Now that Weiner is running for mayor and Spitzer is running for comptroller, what surprise candidate will enter the race for New York City public advocate? Here's hoping for anti-Semitic Elmo. He would make a fitting addition to the circus.

2.)  Oops, I'll do it again -- Could Rick Perry run for president again? TheDC's Jeff Poor reports:

"On this weekend’s broadcast of 'Fox News Sunday,' Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry hinted at what his future political ambitions might be on the eve of what he called an 'important announcement.' Fill-in host John Roberts pressed Perry on what the announcement might be, asking if it could be another presidential run. 'Well, certainly, that’s an option out there, but, again, we got a lot of work to do in this building right behind me over the course of the next couple of weeks that have my focus substantially more than even 2014 or 2016,' Perry replied."

It seems Perry may not have learned TheDC Morning's first rule of presidential politics: If at first you incinerate yourself in a Hindenburg-like explosion, where you embarrass yourself so colossally that your children have a difficult time looking you in the eye anymore, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever try another presidential run --- not a presidential run of the United States, not even a presidential run of Del Boca Vista's condo board.
3.) Dumber and dumber -- Jim Carrey is sorry, though apparently not for his last dozen or so movies. TheDC's Caroline May reports:

"Actor Jim Carrey apologized to gun owners for calling them names Sunday. The 'Dumb and Dumber' star and advocate for gun control took to Twitter to apologize for his past comments. 'Asslt rifle fans,I do not agree wth u,nor do I fear u but I do love u and I’m sorry tht in my outrage I called you names. That was wrong. 3^{,' Carey tweeted. ... In March, Carrey mocked the late actor and former National Rifle Association President Charlton Heston with a video on 'Funny or Die.' ... He released the video with a tweet labeling his opponents 'heartless motherf%ckers.'"

To be fair, Carrey uses "heartless motherf%cker" as a term of endearment for all his close friends and family members.
4.) Bush is a babble-rouser -- Bush doesn't think much of world's dumbest criticism. TheDC's Katie McHugh reports:

"On ABC’s 'This Week' with Jon Karl, former president George W. Bush dismissed critics’ claims that he dedicated his retirement to fighting HIV in Africa to atone for mistakes he made during the Iraq War, which claimed the lives of over 4,400 American servicemen and perhaps over 100,000 Iraqi civilians, calling such talk 'absurd psychobabble.' 'I know you’re not into psychoanalysis,' Karl said as Bush shook his head and laughed.  'These are your critics that say that all of this Africa work you’re doing, that a big part of it is, you’re trying to make up for mistakes you made in Iraq or elsewhere — what do you say to that?' 'Let ‘em continue to babble,' Bush said."

Bush may not fancy himself much of a babbler, but he sure as heck won't stop you from babbling.

5.) Tweet of Yesterday -- Eric Trager: Wanna mock US media coverage of #Egypt? Fine. But if you co-authored a piece titled "Moderate Muslim Brotherhood," get off your high horse.

6.) Today in North Korean News --BREAKING: "Beninese Political Figure Censures U.S. for Starting Korean War"
