TheDC's Patrick Howley reports: "A pro-choice organization publicly supported by President Obama joined a list of progressive groups that have made public references to former Republican Missouri Rep. Todd Akin in recent weeks in order to portray the GOP as anti-women. NARAL Pro-Choice America sent an email to supporters last week comparing recently defeated Republican Massachusetts Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez to Akin, the infamous 2012 Missouri Senate candidate whose comments on 'legitimate rape' were widely disseminated by Democratic political candidates around the country to suggest the Republican Party was engaged in a 'war on women.'" Shocking as it is, the narrative seemed to have worked in 2012, so the Democrats will probably use it until it's used up. Who cares if it is utter nonsense, right? The fact that this propaganda campaign convinced a decent number of people in this country makes TheDC Morning lose a little bit of faith in humanity. 2.) How low can J-Lo go? -- You would think when you're worth a couple hundred million dollars you would have the ability to set some standards for the type of clientele you preform for. TheDC's Taylor Bigler reports: "Jennifer Lopez is really, really sorry that she got paid a ton of money to perform for the dictator of Turkmenistan. The pop star performed at President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's birthday party Saturday night, despite the fact that his regime ranks among the most oppressive in the world. It is totally not her fault, however, because she did not know about his laundry list of human rights violations. Lopez's rep said in a statement to E! News: 'The event was vetted by her representatives, had there been knowledge of human rights issues of any kind, Jennifer would not have attended.' (Right.)" Apparently J-Lo and her reps have never heard of the Internet. 3.) Impeachment now?  -- TheDC's Eric Owens reports on a writer from the leftwing Nation magazine who makes the case for the impeachment of the president: "In the pages of The Nation, the oldest continuously published weekly in the country and the self-described 'flagship of the left,' a former member of the House of Representatives has called for the impeachment of the president over revelations of massive government surveillance of ordinary citizens. Democrat Elizabeth Holtzman of New York, who sat on the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate era, powerfully yet dispassionately lays out the case for the immediate impeachment of the president. 'Nothing less is necessary to protect our constitutional system and preserve our democracy,' she declares. The last straw for the retired Congresswoman was the revelation that the president 'directed the wiretapping of hundreds, possibly thousands, of Americans' (a number that is likely conservative)." The kicker is that Holtzman wrote this in 2006 about President Bush. TheDC Morning is sure that she and the Nation are putting their finishing touches on a piece about impeaching President Obama. Probably will come any day now. 4.)Sarah Palin might switch p-zzzzzz -- Sarah Palin says she might leave the GOP. Yawn. TheDC's Jeff Poor reports: "Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president responded to a Fox News Channel viewer’s Twitter question Saturday about the possibility of her and conservative talker Mark Levin abandoning the Republican Party and creating something called the 'Freedom Party.'  Palin suggested she is open to the idea and said that if the GOP continues to abandon its conservative principles, other would follow suit. 'I love the name of that party — the Freedom Party,' Palin said. 'And if the GOP continues to back away from the planks in our platform, from the principles that built this party of Lincoln and Reagan, then yeah, more and more of us are going to start saying, ‘You know, what’s wrong with being independent,’ kind of with that libertarian streak that much of us have.'" 5.) Tweet of Yesterday -- Albert Brooks: Just offered 5 million to do stand-up at the Devil's birthday.
