What is your responsibility to Made in America in today's economy? As we watch unemployment rise to record numbers and our neighbors become as hungry as we are, is there something we can do to contribute to the recovery of the United States economy? Yes, we can all contribute. We must reinvent the entrepreneurial attitude that made America a great power. The goods we make must be made in America. The money we make must be reinvested in American goods.
I know people who keep a notebook by the side of the bed so they can write ideas down in the middle of the night. Most of the time the notebooks end up in a drawer. No action will be taken on any of the creative and marketable products he/she thought up. However, with a good business plan these ideas could be the ticket to their own business. On good idea is all it takes to make you your own boss.
American entrepreneurship was, at one time, legendary. Now it is almost nonexistent. As our "American" companies continue to offshore manufacturing we are left without jobs. Anyone can succeed with a good strong plan to follow up a good idea. It is important to take the time to make a plan.
After we have a plan, the gates will open. We must find United States resources to manufacture and market our goods. We need to place our work in the hands of Americans, and take it back from the China, India, and other countries not spending in the US. Sourcing in the US is an important step in reviving our economy and employing fellow Americans.
When the business is stable and profitable, it is time to spend those dollars on products made in America. The extra step of finding goods made in the US will allow the enrepreneurs of our country continue to build. If we make an investment in our own economy we can be an inspiration to others. The result will snowball and we will see more and more products made in the US.
